it’s a simple question really: define these two terms and explain how they caused gender neutral pronouns

Postmodernism for the belief that all predating information on gender identity was formed inside a patriarchy and therefore biased. Marxism for the belief those identities shouldn’t exist (eg. man/woman to comrade). Both positions are wrong.

Allison Weiss somewhat recently changed her name to A.W., and wants to be referred to as "they", not her. If you love her latest album, she wants you to say, "I love their latest album". They refers to more than one person, not a single woman. Bad politics and grammar.

It's perfectly ok grammar and by the sound of it, A.W. is a nonbinary person, not a woman. Bad ignorance.

A.W., originally Allison Weiss, was born biologically female and continued to identify as such until 2017, when she came out as "non-binary". She began performing around 2004 as a female, so apparently that was good enough until "non-binary" became chic.

Yeah I came out as nonbinary C2011. I was nonbinary before that - all my life in fact. But age ten there was no word for what I am. Age 20 there wasn't a word for it. Age 30 there wasn't. This is why people don't come out as a thing until there's a word for the thing. Numbnuts.

It's not 'chic' it's finding the language and community to understand yourself and explain it to yourself and others. It's not fashion, it's the excitement and relief of recognition.
