Lee got his start in law enforcement by infiltrating the L.A. Chicano Movement. Lee would don an Army jacket, longish hair and show up to our meetings as if was an earnest member of the group and then report our plans to the sheriff department. 🖕🏽🖕🏾🖕🏿

It's weird Bloomberg News said that to prevent a conflict of interest, it wouldn't report on the 2020 race...then Bloomberg News published a story distorting Bernie's Social Security record & not mentioning Mike Bloomberg proudly pushing to cut Social Security. Weird, I tell you

Today I heard report how unrepresentative Iowa is of Democrats because it’s so white. Then NPR goes to an Iowa town with a Latino community and interviews - wait for it!- white people talking about being uneasy about Latinx folk. Talk to Latinx folk? No.

Here’s something I bet you didn’t know about centrist Democratic pundit and former strategist James Carville. His financial disclosure shows he consults with Palantir, the tech firm that powers mass surveillance and immigrant deportations

Should go without saying: reporters of color shouldn't have their jobs threatened for speaking out about mainstream media failures to properly cover and contextualize issues of race. What's the point of bringing diverse experiences and voices into a room only to muzzle them?

It’s not a “conspiracy theory” to be mildly curious about why the Iowa caucuses failed to produce results for the 1st time ever due to an app from a company whose CEO is a Pete supporter and whose board is packed with Dem establishment figures, after which Pete declared victory

Perhaps journalists should spend less time scolding voters about "conspiracy theories" and more time providing an alternative account of current events that they find more credible

It is the eve of the 1972 Iowa caucuses. An elderly white man on TV is ranting about Calvin Coolidge’s victory in 1924.

top-tier journalism bosses want everyone at their organizations to be empty-brained Yale alums. ideally everyone working for them would be michael barbaro. having a worldview informed by growing up black or working class is almost disqualifying.

We don’t talk enough about how people from underrepresented communities are required to be Extremely Online if they want to get their foot in the door. Newsrooms (usually with a white-majority leadership) love that, until it makes them uncomfortable.
