It's sort of the same forced error as using the term "lockdown" in the early days instead of something more neutral/positive. "Lockdown" has such a punitive sense to it.
-
The term "quarantine" was misused, too. That's what you do *after* you're infected - not to protect yourself from *becoming* infected.

I have written and complained about this. I don't have a fear of needles but even I sometimes have to look away. Insanely stupid.

But it seems like the IV needles if you get hospitalized are lots worse. I really don’t get it.
-
If you get a vaccine there's 100% chance you get stuck with a needle. If you get COVID there's maybe a 1% chance you'll need an IV. To someone deathly afraid of needles that's what they see.

On of my nephews is terrified of needles. The only reason he got the vax was he had Covid a few months before. Those ads with the close up of the needle going in are bad.

Needles don’t scare me, but the thought of them does and I have passed out after getting a shot before. Agree B roll of people getting shots are awful, have to look away just like when the wicked witch showed up on Oz when growing up. I’m vaxxed though

I sincerely say yay you. And thank you. I know that must have been truly difficult and I hope at least you were in a supportive environment for your vaccination.
