Over the past few weeks, hundreds of student midwives have voluntarily stepped into clinical roles, and retired midwives have rejoined the front line to support their colleagues as they care for pregnant women and new babies at a time when they are especially vulnerable.pic.twitter.com/Hv7g8vr9Iu

The shop at another residence, Whitefoord House, remains open so that residents can easily access essentials.
The Duke of Gloucester recognised the efforts of staff at all the residences at this time.

I would deadhead and prune hydrangeas in the spring.
Take out a third of very old stems at the base to allow new growth, and reduce the remaining stems down to the first double set of buds, which will then flower. – MLhttps://twitter.com/EvolveBN/status/1255472522285416449 …Merci. I’ve also had questions on growing berries indoors, or in window boxes.
Strawberries would work best, but they need a cold period outdoors before coming in to flower and fruit. Indoors, always look out for pests and diseases, and where possible, provide free-moving air. - MLMerci. Twitter en tiendra compte pour améliorer votre fil. SupprimerSupprimer -
Some of you have asked about growing in shaded areas with damp soil.
There are a number of plants that would tolerate moist shade; Hellebore, Astilbe, Hosta, and even Ivy might be worth considering.
My second thought would be to look at ferns. - ML

Can I suggest Geraniums, Petunias, Marigolds, Gaura and trailing Begonias for the summer.
Pansies, Primulas, Myosotis and Wallflowers for the winter and spring. – MLhttps://twitter.com/GinaM314/status/1255449604348416008 …Merci. Twitter en tiendra compte pour améliorer votre fil. SupprimerSupprimer -
The best UK native trees to choose are those that are best for wildlife.
For a small space I suggest Rowan, Elder, Blackthorn, Dogwood, Hawthorn or even the underestimated Holly.
There are many varieties of each so choose one that suits the look of your garden. – MLhttps://twitter.com/jenniferkosmo/status/1255451313535684610 …Merci. Twitter en tiendra compte pour améliorer votre fil. SupprimerSupprimer -
It is getting a bit late to plant trees now, so I would recommend waiting until the coming autumn/winter.
Unless you have set your heart on specific varieties, I suggest looking out for heritage varieties as some of them are very worthwhile growing. – ML https://twitter.com/jurgensglasses/status/1255450946659921920 …pic.twitter.com/h3cY8gxRRD

Firstly, you should identify which type of weeds you have.
Annual weeds can simply be pulled up when young, but perennial weeds will need digging out to remove the roots.
You could try mulching the beds to reduce weed growth. - MLhttps://twitter.com/mrsmowgliw/status/1255449556004884483 …Merci. Twitter en tiendra compte pour améliorer votre fil. SupprimerSupprimer -

In late summer, take a 15cm long stem from this year’s climbing rose.
Cut the top above a node, and cut a 45-degree angle below a node at the bottom.
Coat the bottom end in hormone-rooting powder and put into a pot of compost. Leave over winter. - ML https://twitter.com/Tracycowan7/status/1255489235882254343 …pic.twitter.com/7HRT5aFj85

For a shadier area, why not try Lamprocapnos, Astrantia, Campanula, Geranium, Heuchera, Viola, Hosta, Tricytus, Pulmonaria, Ajuga and Tiarella - MLhttps://twitter.com/mrsm_here/status/1255522838410407939 …Merci. Twitter en tiendra compte pour améliorer votre fil. SupprimerSupprimer -
Early summer is best.
Cut a tip of new growth, about 15cm long, just below a node (where leaves grow). Remove the bottom leaves.
Apply rooting powder & insert into a damp, sandy compost. Cover with a plastic bag or spray w/ water occasionally. Place on heated bench - ML https://twitter.com/karin_broome/status/1255765980606849024 …pic.twitter.com/RT9x4m927n

Qn for Mark: Can you suggest some flowering plants, suitable for a small garden and attractive to insects, which will thrive if grown in a north-facing border which gets little or no direct sunlight? Thank you!
