    This is the goal of tonight, to use the main themes and examples to broaden the diversity work being done at institutions and to inform ’s advocacy efforts. Also let’s support each other, add in advice or other perspectives.

  8. This piece hits the nail on the head. I would also add that the “medical school arms race” doesn’t incentivize attributes that you actually want in a physician: empathy, humility, and the ability to work well in a team.

  10. Medical school and residency teach us about the signs and symptoms of an illness and how to treat it. But our training doesn’t teach us the experience of illness. Patients and their families are the ones with that expertise.
