I was in college when KOTOR came out and one of my friends was named Revan (long E sound; I believe it's a Welsh name) when it was time for The Big Reveal he was VERY CONFUSED
-
anyway I feel like The Nameless One does a better job of the same shtick, by virtue of constantly playing up the emotional stakes of what's happening rather than just dropping the plot on you

it is endlessly and earnestly hilarious that in an attempt to reconcile all the different possible character choices in KoToR, the MMO's solution was to have Revan split into two wholly seperate good and evil characters because space magic

what do you mean by "self-inserts"? Like blank characters that the players define as opposed to one with pre established personalities that the character influences like Geralt?

I find it kind of interesting/funny how kotor 1&2 have so much dialog where characters talk about what revan was like and how important they were without mentioning anything specific. Like if we all talked about Julius Caesar without bringing up Rome or republics or legions
