Absolutely! If you don't know history, society will make the same mistakes again.

There's always a Trump or Hitler there to take advantage..the real repeated mistakes were income inequality, lack of decent jobs and security, deregulation of the banks increasing the chance of recession. This is what led up to it before as well.

Duh... the only difference was Hitler was a great orator... Trump has a third grade vocabulary and thats why he has third grade mentalities that vote for him.

The problem is most people thinking that the Nazi’s ran on a platform of Gas Chambers and Death Camps. Most don’t realize the Beerhall Putsch was in 1923. It really was a long, gradual process, and yes, not dissimilar to what we’re seeing today in America.

Exactly. It was a long slow process for Hitler to get where he got and by then so many more "enemies" for him to kill. I did lots of research on him years ago for school papers. 45 scares me because so many people are protecting him. God knows what we don't..

People that remember WW2 and Holocaust survivors have been saying for 2 years that it feels like 1929 Germany. In 1929 they had test camps and when Jews escaped and warned other Jew they didn't believe it. History is repeating even though we all know it.

Anyone with even a remedial knowledge of history can see the similarities. People are as gullible now as they were 75 years ago.

This is one of the things that depresses me. Even with the whole of the information of the internet we're very gullible and at times ignorant.

We are all both gullible and ignorant BECAUSE of the internet. The default for most people is not to question what they read. If it's written it must be true. Couple that with a failure of schools to teach critical thinking...and you have a perfect storm for learned stupidity.

It's been an obvious parallel since the first few months he was in office. Now it's so strong, it's impossible to deny. fortunately, the US doesn't have crushing poverty Germany had to fuel Hitler's rise, but we have a weak & doting GOP helping him grow, which is almost as bad.

Nixon,Reagan etc. they did the same with communist / socialists. Anyway we're lucky Trump is just a con man. Hitler was a True Believer. Don't get me wrong he's doing a lot of damage and we should try and get rid of in the next election...

It's bad down here in hurricane alley too. Once upon a time we had great Democrat leaders. Freaking lifetime ago (24yrs). Now we're drowning in STUPID. RACISM. REDNECKS. GUNS. (And ridiculous heat & horrible hurricanes)

We were once a democratic state too. I didn’t think I would ever live to see this. I’m in Little Rock and it’s pretty blue but it’s just about the only place in Arkansas. Northwest Arkansas is downright scary!
