This little "blue on blue issue" slip-up is probably the most rewarding part of the PPB's further text release this morning. Which is saying something, considering that Krogmann also addresses Niiya as "sir" in almost every single text, and it's e.x.c.r.u.c.i.a.t.i.n.g.
Two other texts clarify that Niiya's "Redneck Revolt" fixation--as seen in the initial text release where he literally tells Joey to look up the new PDX RR as a potential threat to him--centers around their gun ownership/use. This seems particularly interesting given that the police allowed Patriot-Prayer affiliates to maintain their position on top of a parking garage with rifles and ammunition on August 4, 2018. And just...didn't bother telling anyone, via personal text or any other means.

As it is, we could play the examples game all day long. But we'd rather get down to the nuts and bolts here: "Cops and Klan, hand in hand" doesn't mean that the cops and insurgent white supremacists are identical, it means their roles and activities are often complimentary.

While they may disagree on the rate and methods by which repressive social/physical power should be exerted on us, the cops and Joey and Co. share similar senses of threatened entitlement and moral/cultural superiority, plus casual white supremacist/patriarchal sadism.
So we end up with the PPB and Sergeant Niiya playing the part of "totally chill dorm RA who is required to tell you the rules but totally gets why you do what you do, you know?" to a gang of local far-right chuds, violent bigots and neo-Nazis led by an absurd demagogue.
Anyways, it's nice to have this evidence of clear ideological and practical collaboration between Patriot Prayer and the Portland Police. Especially since many people seem to be now taking all this way more seriously for...you know, very good reasons, we're sure.
Hopefully a few more folks will stop "both sides!"-ing local antifascists because of this. And it'll only have taken those folks two years, a few murders, and cops shooting someone in the head with a "non-lethal" explosive to reach this point! Fuck yeah FOIA requests, y'all.
