Michael Collins father was a Fenian, and going backwards he had ancestors in the 1798 rebellion. he was gonna be a republican if Pearse did anything or not.

Doesn't mean he would have amounted to anything. As Dan Breen says, of his own father, that most fenians were fonder of pub talk than action.
