    honestly working in data has made me less paranoid about data use. so many articles are like 'walmart can tell yr pregnant b4 u can based on yr pickle purchases' and the reality is walmart thinks you are 18 different people and isn't totally sure what to do with any of them.

    Yup. Let hobbies be hobbies. I play music and take pictures for fun. I don't want to monitize either. I already have a job. The job pays for the hobbies. The hobbies make me happy. That's enough for them to do.

    I keep seeing a thing going around that says you should have 3 hobbies and one of those ought to be a moneymaker and NO. It's fine to do things for absolutely no reward other than pleasure. Joy does not have to be a commodity.
