Let’s be clear. Language from white people about the need for husbands to protect their wives from crime is code language that has justified police brutality, mass incarceration, and the killing of Black people in this country for centuries.https://www.sfgate.com/bay-area-politics/article/Chesa-Boudin-San-Francisco-crime-KKK-tweet-aide-16296205.php …

(1/x) BLM iSF did NOT support
@GeorgeGascon@LADAOffice. They spent years protesting outside his home/his office. But BLM LA led by Melina supported old Georgie. AND now BLM in LA is tweeting in support of@chesaboudin@SFDAOffice and his SF posse - FFS stick to your own city.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

BLM SF did not support Gascon because he was too conservative in SF - he wouldn’t prosecute police shootings, mainly. Source: I worked on then-SFDA Gascon’s re-election campaign as a consultant before he dropped and moved to LA. Check for Foglight Strategies in campaign records

Gascon has moved to the left in LA, as he should have done before in SF. But SF politics are complacent, NIMBY, bullyish, and strangely conservative. The city needed someone like Chesa to force non-Black, non-Latinx SFians to look at themselves and their privilege.
