They prosecute my homeless client for blocking the right of way and then give free money to businesses to help them block the right of way. Make it make sense.

Funding is now available for local eating and drinking establishments to expand business onto the City's right of way. Funds may be used for design, permitting and construction costs. For information about the grant award process and requirements, visit bit.ly/3loTN3V.

The whole right-wing homeless v. taxpayer dichotomy kinda breaks down in a place with incredibly regressive taxation (i.e. the place where we live). Homeless people pay way more as a percentage of their incomes in sales tax than the average taxpayer.

Hopefully the police put the same amount of effort into protecting those losers as they do protecting the taxpayers

i have literally seen the SF DA’s office prosecute TO TRIAL an elderly, Black, homeless man for sleeping on the street without any compunction over “ethics” or “evidence” but when a cop is charged for killing someone, it’s “political” & gets dropped. should we be surprised?

Remember in 2016 when the horrible tech bro wrote an open letter to the mayor about how he shouldn’t have to see the homeless people he was displacing ? I feel like much of this new urbanist movement is this dude forming various lobbying orgs

Thank you for your anger. ❤️‍🔥

And if it stopped there, that would be sociopathic enough. But now, the movement is also pushing for more violent treatment of unhoused people by police. I plan on being mad about this until it stops. twitter.com/dizz_h/status/…

A “solution” that says unhoused people should have to wait 30 years for luxury condos to trickle down to them deserves to be made fun of endlessly and ruthlessly. Using unhoused people to lobby for housing you won’t let them live in is cynical and cruel. ❤️

So making fun of the Yimby's when construction is still going on, housing crisis still going, and 10k people on the street each night and no solutions at all is silly. This cities politics and people in charge is 100% awful.

I worked in supported housing in NY and I can personally attest that taking people off the streets and into a home is not the neat solution people think it is. Many of them are homeless to begin with because they have severe mental illness or substance abuse issues.

And then what happens? They’re “restrained” in the same physical manner they were when attacked. Only this time by LE who is dismissing their trauma & telling them to “calm down” & “stop resisting”. Trauma layered on trauma. We have the resources for it all to be so different. 💔
