Does anyone remember how, back on old broadcast TV, text on the screen would make the rest of the video funky and even make a buzzing sound? Anyone have one of those amazing youtube videos that explain that?

The closed captioning I swear was just another additional frequency getting interlaced into the signal for the image and sound causing extra noise to the audio. I dont know if anyone has tried to really explain this. Maye it also used extra hardware?
