First thought is maybe someone was making playlists like "funny videos for toddlers!" and hiding scary traumatic stuff in them. There's tons of youtube videos that look educational but are computer-generated incomprehensible garbage.

I'm sure you're right, which makes me think there was a MUCH better solution. "This playlist has something for kids in it. It must remain unlisted." Wowee now I can still have my friggin personal playlist (Not yelling at you! Just the WORLD)

probably because they track playlist usage and they don't track children for legal reasons.

The state of YT for quite a while now In particular when entire albums of just music are marked as for kids, or a funny clip from is auto identified as for kids and I can't add it to my favourites :( Also, miniplayer on mobile doesn't work, but background playing works (???)

Eeyup. It infuriates me that anything slapped with the "Lulz! This is for kids!" things cannot be saved to your favourites. In fact, it also REMOVES them from your favourites if it was only more recently "converted" to that. I'm trying to find all my childhood shows! D:

It likely has to do with the recent laws passed regarding restricting data collection from minors. In practice it means they have to disable the "algorithm" and all features that integrate it on any video deemed as such.
