I enjoyed the show "The Boys" for the most part. The lead was a bit distracting, though. "Can we get someone who looks and acts exactly like Bill Hader?" "We can probably just get Bill Hader." "NO!!!"

The more distracting part is simon pegg is supposed to be his dad
I didn't read the comic, but I did see that the main character looks more like Simon Pegg. I suppose they really wanted a different actor, and just put in Pegg for the nod, but I can see it being distracting for fans of the comic

I read the comic after I started the show and he def coulda been wee hughie but I was legit surprised when pegg was show hughies dad I thought he was his roommate.

Nah, apparently it was a Samuel l Jackson deal where they used his likeness with the understanding he would play the role, but it took so long that pegg himself thought he was too old and asked to play the dad

They had wanted Simon but by the time the show actually got made he was too old. It was written 10 years ago. What bothers me is that the most fun part of the comic book was him being given super powers and not being able to handle them.pic.twitter.com/T3jeFU65p7

Also Pegg even does the forward for the comic book. He signed on to be in this way before it actually came to be. Time passed
