I watched lots of British panel shows. Started with QI, then Big Fat Quiz, Cats does Countdown, multiple others, including Taskmaster which may or may not count as a panel show

Yeah no it’s pretty panelly, I’d recommend Nevermind the Buzzcocks if you can find it, it’s old now but it was the best thing on TV for a good while
