I love that movie and people torment me about that on the regular
we all have our fantasies of what we'd do if we ruled the world if it were me, i'd eliminate everyone who says the super mario bros movie isn't canon

The Mario Bros. movie very clearly takes place in the Scapelli Defeated timeline and serves as a prequel to Mario Land 1. President Koopa devolved from the start, paving way for Tatanga's kidnapping of Daisy, which then leads to the Wario games.
