An important read regarding certain Oscar awards getting bumped from the live broadcast. In short, they're not. The acceptance speeches will air later in the broadcast, albeit in edited form if they run long. The particular categories will rotate each year.https://twitter.com/RealGDT/status/1095379180211003392 …

this is edit-as-you-go-television, those categories mentioned will still be edited down or not broadcast at all if the show is heavy. I wonder what the term "voluntary rotation" means, exactly WHO is volunteering the rotation?

That was awful and so intentional. I lost a lot of respect for Ang Lee that night too for not saying anything or even thanking the VFX team from what I remember.

he thanked everyone but Rhythm and Hues. He may as well have said "I hope that vfx company burns to the ground! THANKS FOR THIS AWARD EVERYONE!"

The orchestra interrupts the VFX team and they pan over to Ang Lee conducting it.

I heard on Hulk, the vfx artists would mutter "Ang Smash!" under their breath.

I heard that Hollywood is trying to get a law passed that movie producers can perform a ritual sacrifice of all their VFX teams after production to curry profit favors from the gods
