Chihayafuru started strong, but over-extended itself as a sports anime/manga, and suffered from going on too long without enough story to back it up

Strangely that's the same argument I'd make about kimi ni todoke, though most of that happens after the adaptation ends, so c'est la vie. I'll accept your opinion but I will also fight you irl my friend.

i didn't read the kimi ni todoke manga, but i did read the chihayafuru manga, so you're probably right. it's nice when an anime ends when the manga should have
