Dark City continues to be a terrific movie and a visual treat inspired by German Expressionism. It's a shame the theatrical version bombed because of the ridiculous spoiler voice-over at the beginning. The director's cut is top notch, and on blu-ray! I think the Matrix is better, personally, but it's like comparing two diamonds. I'd never want to choose between them. And I give Dark City more respect for doing things The Matrix did before they did it.
