I bet believes the New York Times is "failing," because Trump says so. 🤷‍♂️

I accidentally watched about 10 seconds of the address last night. It was the 10 seconds where Trump lifelessly read words about planting trees and investing in infrastructure. Members of Congress actually laughed out loud, thinking *this* might be Infrastructure Week.

Received a mass distribution email from , in which he parroted the idiotic Team Trump talking point that convicting Trump would "nullify the results of the 2016 election." No, Senator, it was Trump who invalidated the voters' choice when he violated his oath of office.

This account misses the reality that a few more months strengthening the case in the House would have still led GOP Senators to acquit--this time, in May--based on the proximity to the election.

I'm curious, : Do you have a list of fact-checks already prepared for Trump's , anticipating the lies he's likely to tell?

This Iowa caucus story is by the media, for the media. They will release the results when they're verified, with 5 months to go before the convention. Just because they didn't do it in time for the morning news shows doesn't make it the end of the world.

Florida Man thinks it's in the nation's best interest to leave in office a president found guilty of abusing power to pursue personal interests at the expense of national security.

Although I want the Chiefs to win, I think 49ers will win and Garoppolo wins the MVP. Another Belichick-drafted QB to earn the SB MVP.

Which is a bigger disqualifier for the presidency: short physical stature or malignant narcissistic lying?

Those in the GOP who hold the Alexander/Rubio opinion that: 1. Trump abused his power and endangered national security for personal gain 2. But the voters should decide his fate, and 3. Still want a conservative to win in 2020 MUST be supporting now, right?

"I think Trump is guilty of abusing power for personal gain and endangering national security, but the voters should decide his fate" must logically be followed by, "And because I know he's guilty, I will be campaigning against him..."

I agree with 100%: "Senators who shirk their constitutional duties are cowards who disgrace their oaths of office and betray the Constitution. Our troops risk their lives for this country; these senators won’t even risk some unpleasantness."

Just three years ago, less than 21% of active GOP voters in 2016 supported Trump to be the GOP standard bearer. Now they are in so deep that they gleefully watch as he abuses the power of the office for personal gain. Will they regain their conscience as quickly as they lost it?

A brainstormed idea for the GOP: If you think Trump playing the victim card will win in November, then convict him but don't bar him from running again. That way, Pence would have the incumbent's gift of being called "Mr. President" during the 2024 campaign, running for 1st term.

West Point cadet prayer: "Make us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong, & never to be content with a half truth when the whole can be won. Endow us with courage...that scorns to compromise with vice & injustice & knows no fear when truth & right are in jeopardy"

Keep in mind that, throughout his entire adult life, Trump has never needed to answer to anyone. In his businesses, he wasn't accountable to shareholders or boards of directors. And now, the body that has oversight over his behaviors is abdicating that responsibility.

"Dad, when I grow up, I want to be a US Senator so I can help people and make the world a better place... But when I face the tough choice of abiding by my oath to support and defend the Constitution or receiving a mean tweet, I'm going to avoid the mean tweet."

Turns out the real quid-pro-quo in this whole affair is the one where GOP senators give up their integrity and concern for the Constitution in exchange for avoiding a mean tweet.

If you're a GOP senator (e.g., ) and you're so afraid of a Trump tweet, a primary challenge, or the loss of a lobbying job that you can't uphold your oath and conduct a full trial with witnesses, then you don't deserve your seat. Resign and let someone else do the job.
