An explicit quid pro quo? No. But conservatives argued - properly so - that when Obama mused aloud about siccing the IRS on political opponents or prejudged that Hillary had done nothing indictable, he didn't have to be 100% explicit for it to be bad. Apply the same logic here.

How is it a quid pro quo to ask a foreign government to investigate potential wrongdoing? Or is that off the table if the subject of the investigation is a relative of the other party's most powerful members? If so, that's a hell of a license for corruption.

Never Trumpers have zero logic. These comparisons are asinine. They can’t see past their visceral hatred.

We you combine it with the fact that millions of aid was stopped even though congress signed off on that aid there is little doubt this reaches bribery. Youre being obtuse

Flip it arround exactly- Say Trump lost in 16 and Don Jr was in Hunter Biden’s place in terms of Ukraine- A very reasonable supposition. Now say President Hillary did exactly what Trump did to lean on them to investigate Don Jr? You think the team Trump takes it laying down?

Biden’s son had no previous background in the Ukrainian company let alone the entire field the company is in. Not did he have any background in all the China deals he got while his dad was the 2nd most powerful man in the world

It is good that when the American Swamp makes its final stand against the Trump presidency, it is a resolute action to defend the Norm that....high officeholders and their delinquent children always be able to trade off high public offices without fear of any consequences.

As I always say: when Caesar marched on Rome, the rampant dynastic corruption of the late Roman republic meant that Caesar was always pushing at an open door.
