I think it was the right move. Pelosi and Biden both knew - goading their egos would get them to switch their votes. Honey and not vinegar. We are not ready for an honest conversation yet.

I understand that but Biden doesn't see the GOP as the big enemy and he doesn't believe they would in the end support authoritarianism and betray the USA. He sees the USA as a big promise with a lot of faults but goodness at the core. That core can't be corrupted nor destroyed.

hes far too optimistic.

This was the same complaint against Clinton. There just aren’t enough potential GOP voters willing to cross over and vote Democrat.

He was right. You can say "this time" but at some point you have to believe in people cause otherwise they will behave the way you push them by always saying how bad they are. If you honestly wanna trust them, it becomes harder for them to betray that. Let's go with that.

The people who say they might as well become racist if they're being called racist are lying. It's just shifting responsibility for their own terrible views/acts onto someone else.

Maybe. But Ds failed to effectively reject off-putting politics such as defunding the police, tarring all law enforcement as racist, fuzzy tolerance for non-peaceful protest, and a Communist-version of socialism. Rs successfully defined their hapless political opponents.

“Communist-version of socialism.” WTF are you even talking about? What did the leftist Dems propose that hasn’t already been proposed in American politics (especially by the New Deal coalition)?pic.twitter.com/5UIN4Tvt9W

It’s not a fixed stance. As we wade into Georgia elections, the contrast between a D candidate and a R sycophant will be very apparent.
