The best thing you can do in this election is to vote for a smaller party.

The best thing AFTER not wasting your time to vote in the first place.

Dumb idea. The threashold to get one rep. to parliament is about 45k votes. The small parties (4 or less MP's) can't cover all the portfolio committee's, making them ineffective. We need a strong opposition to take on the impunity of the ANC.

The opposition can also be strengthened by voting alliances between medium and smaller parties when they have values and goals in common?

Playing right into the hands of the EFF, who will become disproportionately strong members of the quadparty alliance.

More seats to smaller parties leads to less consensus and more negotiation.

The best thing you can do in this election is to vote for the one & only party that has the structures & experience to deliver good, clean governance. The cumulative number of votes “lost” through votes for a no. of small parties could be the difference in getting rid of the ANC.

Only maybe on the National ballot where the top 15 will get seats. Any party outside the top 4 in a province generally do not get a seat and their votes then mostly get assigned to the ANC and EFF. Seriously, a prov vote outside the top 4, is giving most of your vote to ANC.
