Yeah, except YouTube didn’t hire you and you’re not an employee. That’s like spending the day walking around Walmart and then expecting them to pay you.

Lol, that’s fine but it’s still true. We aren’t employees. YouTube didn’t hire us. Not saying the system doesn’t have issues, not saying YouTube isn’t often wrong
But you’re not “working for free” if they never asked you to make a video
It’s rev share, not a salary.11 replies 0 retweets 79 likes -

Your comparison is shit!!! I was an LMT for 7 years On days I was on the schedule I had agreed to wait for a possible appointment to walk through the door & book a massage. That was how it worked when I was an employee & an independent contractor. I knew all that up front

The issue is
@TeamYouTube &@SusanWojcicki aren't upfront with content creators about what's expected or unacceptable Your video can get demonetized for using the word ALABAMA! How does that make any sense? Just give content creators guidance on what's want! It's not unreasonable1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

This isn't even about feeling entitled to monetization! I don't agree with that It's about how broken, erratic, unreliable, & non-transparent they've made the monitoring system, how they're either unable or unwilling to fix it, & how poorly they're treating the types of creators

who made their business a success It's literally worst than broadcast tv, but at least in that industry the rules are very clear & consistent
