I think men with good intentions think they are being good allies by being so deeply repulsed by these fuckfaces that they can't bring themselves to read their missives on how women who wear leggings should "get the rope" and what have you.

And they ARE repulsive. They are dangerous. They repulse me, too, but I don't feel that ignoring them is an option. And with things like this recent mass killing, it becomes even more important to keep tabs on them.

We have to force ourselves to look at the ugliness in the world -- particularly ugliness that more directly affects others than ourselves -- if we are ever going to figure out how to combat it. Men need to see this shit in order to fully understand what we're dealing with.

How do they get this way and what as a society can we do about it?
-
For one, I think the ones that are literally sitting around talking about how to get away with things like serial rape should be being tracked by law enforcement. For another, we need to look at the way our culture promotes the idea that men are "entitled" to women.
-
Am I wrong that this seems like a problem unique to the US?
-
Well, it's currently in the news because of what just happened in Canada, so...

We had one in Australia he lived about 30minutes from my house, he's house was packed with illegal guns, he said in court as an excuse he couldnt get laid and that made his hate grow.. it was chilling to read but hardly no coverage in media herehttp://www.wehuntedthemammoth.com/2017/08/25/incel-logic-australian-neo-nazi-planned-mass-shooting-if-i-dont-get-laid-soon/ …

Which is even more strange. These sorts of things should me covered more. I’d never heard anything about this weirdness before today. Ever.

Violence against women doesn’t get much coverage in general.

Same goes for those dismissing it as merely ‘creepy’, not recognising it as virulent, organised hatred

Organized and amplified. I think the amplification factor gets ignored at times.

A lot of good guys I know REFUSED to even glance at Alt-Right hives when they were held up as evidence of what was growing before the 2016 election. This resonates.

This made me remember a brave, thoughtful piece from 2014 by Arthur Chu
@arthur_affect after the Elliot Rogers murders: 'Your Princess Is in Another Castle: Misogyny, Entitlement, and Nerds' -https://www.thedailybeast.com/your-princess-is-in-another-castle-misogyny-entitlement-and-nerds-1 …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

The scariest thing about incels is not their depraved ideology. It's how easily one can see echos of it woven into society as a whole and most of the men who inhabit it.
-
The poison that weaves through incel propaganda is the same poison that says a wife/gf provoked the man into beating her, that the child seduced the adult, that a ‘bad seed’ child needs the devil beaten out of them. It is the same evil and corruption.
