TFW the word you are trying to masculinize already has "man" in it.

This man is so much more then a fraud. He's a terrorist.

  3. By doing what she did, she not only fucked with Johnny Depp's life in an absolutely horrid and cruel way, but she made things a little harder for DV victims. She made it a little harder for people to come forward. She gave ammo to the people who always assume women are lying.

  4. Because we actually do live in a society where one asshole lying about domestic violence is going to hurt actual victims of it. That shouldn't be the case, but it is.

  5. And that reason is that historically, victims were first assumed to be lying. Especially female victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, and not for reasons of "innocent until proven guilty."

  6. This whole Amber Heard thing is just truly horrible. It's horrible. While I've never felt fully comfortable with the whole "Believe Women" line, on account of it feeling too close to the Satanic Panic "Believe the children" thing, there is a *reason* for it.

  7. And, you know, people love to blame Nader for shit, assuming that those who voted for him would have otherwise voted for Democrats if he hadn't run, but Kerry clearly felt that he did not need those votes to win. You think he would have learned something from that.

  9. Back in 2003, John Kerry had a meeting with Ralph Nader, in which Nader gave him 20 pages of issues he felt were really important, and told Kerry that if he picked three to adopt in his campaign, he wouldn't run in that election.

John Kerry would be a formidable candidate against Trump. The man is a war hero, which Republicans would have to respect and not be able to use against him in any way

I dunno. It always seems like whoever is trotted as a well-behaved "good girl" tends to lose her exalted position once she actually makes a play for real power.

  17. As a lifelong atheist, I'll never fully understand what it's like to grow up in any religion, never mind a toxic Christian Right style religion — but I read hashtags like to try. If you did, consider sharing your story on the hashtag. Yay catharsis!

If you left a toxic Christian community or denomination—whether recently or long ago, for healthy religion or no religion—why not share your story using the hashtag? It’s a way to express solidarity with others while putting the Christian Right on notice!
