    > This is a hugely worrying development & clad be a watershed political attack on Taiwanese living overseas. Much like w white supremacism in the West, China’s internet has been filled in recent years with increasingly violent, nationalist rhetoric, especially towards Taiwan

12/ The Ukrainians have taken this advice to heart. They have attacked the weakest physical support systems of an army in the field – communications networks, logistic supply routes, rear areas, artillery and senior commanders in their command posts.

9/ The Ukrainians have achieved this through the adoption of a simple military strategy: corrosion. The Ukrainian approach has embraced the corrosion of the Russian physical, moral, and intellectual capacity to fight and win in Ukraine.

Plagiarism in South Korea is on a whole other level. Compare left (original abstract) and right, the latter supposedly written by high school students including daughter of Han Dong-hoon, who is tipped to become justice minister. Anyone with half a brain knows its a massive scam.

When they say the mass of the Russian army is treated like cannon fodder, this is what they mean. Can you imagine the orders received: ‘go drive that way and see what happens.’ No wonder they’re losing. And how tragic for RU soldiers to be led so badly

It is possible to both yearn for Ukraine to win this war and also feel intense sadness for the thousands of young Russian men — boys, in many cases — who are dying from the stupidity and arrogance of Putin and their officers. What a waste of human life.

Yes, because our primary concern about N Korea is internet access, not, say, gulags, arbitrary arrest, torture, or a paranoid elite with WMD. To be fair though, I’d say they’re are more scary righties on Twitter than tankies. My experience at least…

Covid in N Korea should remind everyone that the country is Upper Volta with missiles. Except that most LDCs want development, whereas the Kim family couldn’t care less. Covid exposes social inequities. In NK, the regime’s revealed incompetence & callousness will be staggering

tracey and greenwald are two of the lightest-hitting, most ignorable commentators in the solar system. it is mathematically impossible to be more wrong about things than they are. their analysis of the ukraine war is a naked singularity of ignorance

It’s all the stuff you already know: The frontier; the 2nd Amendment; romantic myths about the Old West & defending against tyranny; the permanent rural gerrymander of the Senate; the NRA That’s a good explanation of the failure of gun control, but for the ‘normality’ of it, 3

Inevitably they ask you if you had a gun back home and if it’s safe to study in the US. TV has convinced them everyone is packing & American cities are warzones. Thanks, Hollywood. The smarter ones want to know why you can buy anything heavier than a pistol for home defense. 5
