Trump supporters are already saying that, despite the violence against police happening right now in the streets of DC, most of the pro-Trump protesters are actually peaceful, and we shouldn't judge the whole group by its most violent elements. That sounds...familiar.

Boy does it ever. There is, one big difference between each group of protestors. These Trump supporters are hopped up on conspiracy theories and protesting something that didn’t happen. BLM protestors were protesting things caught on tape (Blake) and others.

Also, many of the protests actually featured police who rioted (see nyc and dc) and actively targeted protestors with unreasonable force.
