    Bloomberg reported last week that a new kind of ransomware aimed at industrial control systems, called Snake/EKANS, was linked to Iran. But it now seems at least as likely that it’s the work of non-state cybercriminals. Which is not very reassuring either.

    This is a new thing is doing, taking an ICS range and educational content to various cities and hosting it with infrastructure companies. Yes it’s marketing but in an educational way to show the world more about ICS. Look for it in a city near you.

    The same Energy minister in the past claimed of a crippling sophisticated attack on the electric grid that was actually ransomware on non-electric systems at a regulator. Take the recent news with a grain of salt

    Israeli energy minister Yuval Steinitz: "Only a few months ago, we detected and neutralized an attempt to paralyze and take over one of our power stations." Seemingly specific references can feel like blanket statements for certain cybersecurity topics.
