Except many families were fed during its design and manufacture, more are supported as trainers, maintenance, and flying personnel, and many have their way of life and the freedom to criticize it defended by its very existence.

No argument. I have never met a Naval officer who wanted to g to war. The point of defense is to keep the peace.

Of course no one one wants to go to war. But Pope Francis has condemned even the position of nuclear weapons. The Challenge of Peace accepted deterrence as a provisional strategy while working toward disarmament. Yet we have failed to pursue that, making proliferation inevitable.
