A sign of things to come: Last Dec the doctrinal committee of the USCCB issued a guide to evaluating hymns on basis of doctrinal content. An example of a hymn that offends Eucharistic doctrine was “All Are Welcome.”

A few years ago I attended a Methodist church for a number of months. The different approach to Communion was amazing. The only rule was that you had to have been baptized; nothing else. The instructions took up about one paragraph. During that time I happened to find 1/2
