deserves condemnation for disrespecting "the fundamental ground rules of a constitutional democracy." Yet which was the greater violation of these ground rules? Protecting lies and secrets, or revealing them?

Of course I agree with and have gratitude for your father. One could also ask if waging such a war in the first place was the biggest violation of the fundamental ground rules of democracy.
