FD of St Kieran of Saighir, the first native-born saint of Ireland. His wonderful legends involve his intimacy with the natural world. He began his life as a hermit who gathered a community of animals, his first disciples: Brother Boar, Brother Badger, Brother Fox, Brother Wolf.
Conversation
Later, they were joined by human disciples. From an early bio: From his youth “he never drank by which he might be drunken, never wrapped himself in downy raiment, never partook of a banquet, never slept his fill, nor for love of carousing rushed off anywhither.”
....well the resemblance seems to end there, but good man himself! There's no "k' in the Irish alphabet, that seems to be a colonial imposition.
