There is nothing so inspiring as to see people rushing toward an impossible fight, armed only with the truth, giving every ounce of strength and devotion to a cause that is apparently hopeless. The Senate trial did not end as justice would have dictated.

But what and his colleagues did will not be forgotten. History shows that the truth often wins by means of apparent defeat. I have no doubt that their arguments and efforts planted seeds that will ultimately rise from the ashes of this miserable era.
