Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to design a church in Barcelona, which became the Basilica of the Holy Family. He worked on this project with single-minded devotion for 43 years, until he was struck by a streetcar and died on June 10 1926.
Conversation
The Basilica was not just an expression of his artistic vision, but of his religious faith. In his last months he slept on a cot in the church. He has been proposed as a candidate for canonization. Work on the Basilica continues. "Beauty is the image of truth."

I would love to see the Basilica. But, honestly, I am mystified by people whose response to the Gospel is the construction of extraordinarily elaborate churches.

I came out of the subway, turned a corner & just stood there in front of the passion facade for 15 minutes with tears running down my far from Catholic cheeks.
The forested interior, just amazing. & love the school house for the children of construction workers.
