Many of today's clergy, especially the high ranking ones, act in a way that reminds more of the Pharisees in Jesus' time.

Jesus never intended for his Church (Catholic, evangelical, mainline) to have the structure we have. The ecclesiastical hierarchy is created by men.

So dam true. Only really coming to that realisation now at 58. Too trusting or too passive? Even the good ones to a large extent oil the machine. Yes a machine needs administrators but that’s not what bishops are supposed to be. Sad.

I really needed to hear this today. I really struggle to stay in this church. My parish priest and fellow parishioners live the gospel and this gives me strength. Our hope is in the Lord.
