This year marks the 75th anniversary of the firebombing of Tokyo and the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. An exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in LA entitled Under a Mushrooom Cloud features art by Yuri Mason.

Mason, who survived the bombing of Tokyo, was indelibly marked by her experience. She moved to America and spent her life painting in all styles. But she left behind a remarkable collection of images inspired by the suffering she had witnessed and her passion for peace.
