FD of St Catherine Labouré (d 1876), a French nun who spent her life in obscurity. Her superiors called her “insignificant, cold, almost apathetic.” Only after her death was it revealed that a vision in her first yr as a nun had inspired the Miraculous Medal worn by millions.
