Eberhard Arnold, founder of the Bruderhof, d Nov 22 1935. After WWI he passed up his career as a theologian to see, instead, if it was possible to live according to the Sermon on the Mount. In effect, he rediscovered the spirit of the 16th century Anabaptists.

There is a local Bruderhof community here. Years ago I got to know one of the members really well. She shared so many stories of growing up in Paraguay and then coming to the US. Amazing people.
