FYI, two books on Dom Helder Camara

Wonderful, Robert. Does either of them contain full text of Spiral of Violence? If not, is that something Orbis could consider? It still reads so fresh. I scanned it out of frustration at its unavailability but await dread consequences. Meanwhile, this arrived from your stable.

Not that full text, but plenty more. Dom Helder was a mystic and prophet, a modern St Francis, who heard the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth.

I see a review here ncronline.org/blogs/road-pea. And here’s a passage on his essence. I remember being amused to read in some conservative Catholic publication an insistence that he was not a priest of liberation theology. I thought, “that’s it, he’s a saint of liberation theology.”
