Elizabeth Feodorovna, a German princess, married the younger brother of Tsar Alexander III of Russia. As Grand Duchess, she embraced her new culture and converted to the Orthodox faith. Her sister married Tsar Nicholas II. After her husband was murdered she forgave his assassin.

She was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1991. There is an entry about her in my book, "Blessed Among All Women."
