Francis in Laudato Si calls for an “ecological conversion”. Müller, who as CDF prefect reviewed (& presumably approved, else surely he would have resigned) Laudato Si, now calls for us to “absolutely reject the term” as heresy. Yeah, right. pjmedia.com/faith/cardinal

Urge everyone to read the prep document for the Amazonia synod. It is moving, challenging and inspiring. So sad to read the cardinal’s crude and dismissive caricature. bit.ly/30ugRP5

Thanks for posting the document. Having just read through it, I’m left wondering if it’s the same document Crd Mueller has read! His criticisms of it are “coming out if left field” so to speak. In fact, I’m not even sure he’s in the same ball park.

Müller's criticisms address the Working Document (sinodoamazonico.va/content/sinodo), not the Preparatory Document.
His comments address issues he sees in that document, but seem dismissive of the views presented there and of their roots in papal and regional documents.

Just a quick scan through the Working Document, it doesn’t seem that different than the prep document linked by Elsberg. I still think Mueller is out in left field in his comments. Some of his comments were extremely strange in comparison to what I’m reading here.

I don't think we disagree, but Müller is especially disturbed by the discussions of traditional medicine §85-91 and of the enculturated liturgy as it relates to the worldview (cosmovisión) of indigenous peoples §124-129.
