How long will it be before he experiences pushback that leads him to “clarify” his statement. These points will bring fear to any Bishop who enjoys the status quo and the accompanying perks. Which is to say most of them.
It's in everyone's DNA not simply the church. It came when Adam & Eve swalloed the seed: abusing the power of faith. I read "confidence" as "Faith". This God charges in to restore our original dependence. Things changed when The Fire of His Love touched the timbers of the cross.
