Holy Week has traditionally been marked by persecution of Jews. As we remember the passion and death of Christ, let us think of all those who are currently victims of projection and scapegoating by “Christians,” particularly Muslims, refugees, LGBTQ people.

You may already know this but this painting, Chagalls’s White Crucifixion is one of Pope Francis’ favorite paintings.

I don’t think you can compare or liken what has happened to the Jews historically to any other group of people.
