Inside the <ruby> tag you use <rt> to define the reading, and <rp> to provide fallback parens for browsers that don't support it (even though it goes back to IE5). I can't help but feel like attribute-based syntax would have been nicer

The <ruby> tag is probably my favourite low-key HTML. If you don't read or make websites in east-asian languages you might not have ever seen it. It has nothing to do with the language Ruby, but is used for 'ruby annotations' showing how to read Kanji characters

The JS bundle still seems a little big (78kb) but I haven't done a production deploy to see how that compresses down. In theory though that won't bloat out as the application grows because the templates etc are all kept on the server

OK, so I've been tinkering with Phoenix LiveView and it feels ...like magic. Functionally (😉) you're writing client-side code for the server. JS events send data over a websocket and then DOM updates are handled in a server-side process before being sent back over the socket

I have so much to be thankful for, but most of all, if it weren't for this project I might not have met my partner. Mana sirds ir, un uz visiem laikiem būs eiropā. Liels paldies

I've gone from not really getting what it is, to thinking that Phoenix Liveview looks pretty wild. Might kick the tires on this a bit.
