Tetchy Novak Djokovic appeared to tell noisy fans to “shut the f*** up” as he secured an 8th after an epic battle with Dominic Thiem. And the Serbian was lucky to avoid a hefty fine for touching the umpire’s left FOOT after another temper tantrum

He was tetchy, foul-mouthed & broke the rules but Novak Djokovic remains the King of Melbourne, lifting an 8th title. Austrian Dominic Thiem pushed him harder than anyone in a final since Rafa in 2012 but over 4 hours it wasn't enough. No.17 Grand Slam for the Serbian

Sofia Kenin fulfilled her child prodigy promise to become the youngest Australian Open winner since her idol Maria Sharapova 12 years ago. The American, 21, came from behind to beat the error-prone Garbine Muguruza 4-6 6-2 6-2 in the women’s singles final

Difficult to recall another time when a tennis major was decided by a double fault but error-prone Muguruza hit eight of them, the last of which gave Sofia Kenin the 4-6 6-2 6-2. She is the youngest female singles winner here since her idol Maria Sharapova 12 years ago

Sloppy from Muguruza, who is broken twice in the 2nd set, meaning the match will go to a decider. The Spaniard receives a quick assessment from the trainer at the changeover. The longer this goes on, the more time waiting backstage for Jamie Murray and his mixed doubles final

Garbine Muguruza is a curious player, who swings from the sublime to the ridiculous in a heartbeat. She can lose a game by serving two double faults and yet respond to win the first set. Advantage to the Spaniard in this final

Dominic Thiem will face Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final after the lights went out on Alexander Zverev. In bizarre scenes, this exhilarating SF was delayed by 10 minutes in the 3rd set because one of the light bulbs blew on the Rod Laver Arena.

Dominic Thiem will face Novak Djokovic in Sunday's Australian Open final after this exhilarating, high-octane three-and-a-half-hour semi-final (3-6 6-4 7-6 7-6) win over Alex Zverev. Exceptional tennis at times. Hopefully physically it won't have taken too much out of him

Novak Djokovic, who hasn't lost to Roger Federer at major level since 2012, is through to an unprecedented 8th Australian Open final. Once again a tie-break proved Federer's undoing, as it did at Wimbledon 2019. Fed, coming in with an injury, had chances at 4-1 & 5-2 in 1st set.
