Rachel wasn't human. In the novel and script she's a replicant. There's nothing in the film indicating she's human. She's got the red eye of replicants too.https://twitter.com/Pro_Dover/status/1064930584181407744 …

Blade Runner 2049's biggest failure is that it was a retcon. Rachael, originally, is very human -in fact More Human than Human- until Deckard puts the machine on her. But BR2049 decided to make her a child-bearing Replicant.

Hi, this isn’t relevant to this particular tweet so I apologize but I just saw one of your analysis videos on the Shining and it was great. I was just wondering if you’d possibly do an analysis of Zack Snyder’s film either Man of Steel or Batman v Superman? Specifically, BvS ...

I'm not into modern superhero films so no motivations for me. Thanks though.

Novel is not the movie. Only indication she’s a Replicant is a Replicant’s say-so. Red eyes are red herrings. Leon and Zhora didn’t suffer that affliction and they are on record as Replicants.

You're ignoring the script there. Obviously the red eye only in certain light, but never applied to humans. Scott has been open that Deckard a replicants, but given zero indication Rachel human. No evidence for it at all. Sorry.

You're right. In fact, they should've shown the spinning-top fall over at the end of Inception. Or what was inside the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. Or whether/not MacReady and/or Childs were human at the end of The Thing. That's what life's about: Easy non-thought provoking answers

Perhaps they didn't give any answers to those question because they wanted the audience to decided for themselves

Didn't Mr. Tyrell confirm she was a replicant in the first film?

I thought the new Blade Runner was weak as well.
