There are now 13 states with automatic voter registration. If we expanded this nationwide, almost 27 million Americans would immediately gain the ability to vote, creating more fair and representative elections.

I wouldn't be optimistic. In many of these states, voter registration is easy. Someone who can't be troubled to fill out a web page reg form isn't likely to go to the polls either. (There are states like WI and NC working on deliberate, evil, disenfranchisement, different story)
