I actually agree! We are overspending on the military, with not enough spending on rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, improving health care, etc. We are a nation that lives for war, rather than a nation that lives and tries to avoid war.
Carter ran in 1976 on reducing the defense budget. This year my Amendment simply to freeze defense spending at Trump 2019 levels failed to get a majority of D votes.
